Heather is married and the mother of four children under the age of seven. The six of them currently sleep in one bedroom in her parents’ home. As a homeowner in progress (HIP) this opportunity with Morris Habitat means so much to her family:
“It's so easy to take for granted the idea of “home” when you have the money to buy a house or rent an apartment. When that freedom is taken away for whatever reason, you start to realize how much that stability means. This opportunity is so much more to us than just a house. It’s helping us to build a life. It's giving our children the chance to have playdates and backyard parties. It's teaching them the true value of giving back when it’s their turn, instead of acquiring stuff”.

Morris Habitat HIPs, like Heather and John, help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage when they move in. Construction of the McLaughlin’s new home has begun, but we need to purchase materials to move Heather’s family into a 3-bedroom home as soon as possible.
You can help. It is simple. By selecting the “donate” button above, you will view a list of materials and the exact quantities needed to complete this project. Your purchase of any of these materials will be tax exempt. The materials will be delivered directly to us and your work will be done!
For every dollar you spend, 100% will be used for the materials you select and they'll be delivered directly to our site!
